A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has permanently ordered the forfeiture to the Federal Government properties valued at N11.1 billion and N1.04 billion linked to the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke made the order of final forfeiture after hearing a motion filed and argued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its counsel, Chineye Okezie.

Some of the ousted chairmen of Rivers State local government areas have kicked against the decisions of the newly inaugurated caretaker chairmen to dissolve standing committees in their various councils. The ousted Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, said the caretaker committee chairman, Darlington Orji, lacked the legitimacy to dissolve the committees.
4. Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested two former staff of Union Bank for allegedly stealing N4,199,500.00 belonging to a deceased customer. According to a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of the commission, Mr. Dele Oyewale, the suspects, Idah Ogoh and Agbo Okwute were arrested on Friday in Makurdi, Benue State.
5. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has condemned the viral video where some policemen were seen performing guard duties to a young man. The police said the officers were encouraging him to abuse the Naira, contrary to the provision of the CBN Act, in such a manner demeaning to the police officer and the NPF at large.
6. A retired brigadier general of the Nigerian Army, Uwem Harold Udokwe, has been murdered by suspected armed robbers in Abuja. The late brigadier general was attacked at his Sunshine Homes Estate by armed robbers at about 3 am, on Saturday.
7. A Police Inspector has been killed by suspected naval officers in Okokomaiko area of Ojo Local Government Area in Lagos State. The Inspector and four of his colleagues were said to be on routine patrol along Igbo-Elerin area of Ojo when the incident occurred.
8. The Lagos State Police Command said it has uncovered what appears to be a staged kidnapping involving a 20-year-old student, Collins Ikwebe, and five of his schoolmates. The case came to light on Saturday after a distressing social media post by a friend of one of the suspects went viral.
9. A 16-year-old apprentice barber identified as Dimeji was reportedly swept away on Friday after a torrential rainfall around St Anthony Secondary School, Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Dimeji was said to have accidentally stepped into a canal, thinking there was a pedestrian plank that crossed the gully, and was swept away by erosion.
10. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Uyo Zonal Command, has secured the conviction and sentencing of eight internet fraudsters in the state. This was contained in a statement by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale on Saturday.
