Remain loyal, committed to nation’s security – CDS Musa tells troops

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, has advised troops of Operation Delta Safe to remain loyal and committed to the nation’s security.

He warned them to avoid being used by enemies of the nation and stick to their professional engagements for the service of their fatherland.

Speaking at the Eid El-Kabir luncheon celebration at the Port Harcourt barracks on Sunday, Musa enjoined the troops to resist the temptation of being used by forces that seek to destroy the nation’s economy, saying that their role is to provide solutions and not become part of the country’s problems.

Musa, who conveyed the commendation, felicitation and appreciation of President Bola Tinubu to the troops, reiterated the importance of their loyalty and dedication to the nation’s security.

He explained that the military was making significant progress, despite the challenging terrain that often made it difficult for others to understand troops’ experiences.

He added, “We recognize and appreciate your efforts and commitment to our region. Your dedication, sacrifices, and hard work do not go unnoticed, especially on this special day of celebration.”

The CDS noted that Operation Delta Safe plays a vital role in protecting the national assets, maintaining stability in the region, and promoting economic growth, stressing that their unwavering vigilance and professionalism in combating criminal elements, oil thieves, and other security threats are truly commendable and deserve recognition.

He assured that Nigeria was winning the war against economic sabotage, stressing that the military was gaining the upper hand in the fight against economic sabotage.

Musa explained that oil production had increased significantly, with a target of two million barrels per day well within reach and vowed to crack down on any collusion between personnel and economic saboteurs, promising swift punishment for offenders.

The Commander of the Joint Task Force, South-South, overseeing Operation Delta Safe, Admiral John Okeke, in his earlier remarks, explained that the operation had achieved major successes in the anti-economic sabotage campaign.

According to him, the operation has achieved significant milestones in its kinetic and non-kinetic operations, substantially shaping the operational environment and yielding notable successes.
